Farley Aguilar is a self-taught painter based in Miami. His work is inspired by vintage photos of Americana from the early 20th century and feature elements of classical mythology continuously nodding to stylistic modes of German Expressionism.
For this film, we collaborated with Farley to recreate three of his paintings, and in turn the photos they're based on, using real people. This film was commission by South Florida PBS affiliate WPBT in a project that paired Miami filmmakers with local artists. The film aired on WPBT and was featured in the 2016 Miami International Film Festival program, I've Never Not Been From Miami.
